Project description
Blue Buttercream is a film about pain, memory, and the fragile intelligence of the human body. It explores what it means to inhabit a body that is young, hungry for life and love, yet constantly disrupted by illness. Ava moves through spaces that appear ordinary, but for her they are charged with a persistent sense of not belonging. Her body becomes both a home and a battleground.
I wanted the film to feel visceral and intimate, allowing the audience to step inside Ava’s physical and emotional experience. Through a sensory, often melancholic journey, the camera stays close to her skin, her breath, her silences. Rather than explaining her condition, the film invites the viewer to feel it. The narrative slowly accumulates tension, like a body holding pain for too long, until it finally ruptures without warning.
