The UK’s first cafe run entirely by Deaf and hard of hearing baristas, Dialogue Cafe breaks down barriers and starts conversations. My eye-catching branding embeds British Sign Language at the heart of the design, with the hand showing the sign for coffee, placing Dialogue Cafe’s mission front and centre for everyone to learn from. I wanted to create something that felt handmade, since hands are the most expressive medium for deaf people. At the same time, we wanted it to be evocative and colourful, something that would help the community feel empowered.
